Dr Chana receives an MBE!

Congratulations to our senior partner Dr Nav Chana who was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list. As well as his 28 years as a GP at the practice in Mitcham his other roles have included: training, setting up and running training programmes for GPs and Physician Associates; providing new services for patients in the community, including one of the first practice based warfarin clinics; influencing national policy to champion innovative ways of working in his work with the National Association of Primary Care and NHS England.

Dr Chana said:

‘I’m honoured to have been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list by the award of an MBE for services to clinical education, primary and community care. I’m particularly delighted that the citation named Cricket Green Medical Practice.
I started my career as GP at the practice in 1991 and have been privileged to have worked with so many wonderful staff, colleagues and patients.
The award is a testament to all my colleagues who work incredibly hard to provide high quality, safe and effective care to improve the health of our patients.’
