You can see or contact our clinicians in various different ways at Cricket Green Medical Practice.

If you phone up or come to reception asking to be seen you will be asked ‘is this a new or urgent problem?’ as well as a few details about the problem. This will help the receptionists book you a face to face appointment with an appropriate clinician, at a clinically appropriate time.

If you wish to book a follow up or face to face appointment in advance you can do this via reception also.

If however you feel a telephone call, perhaps with a GP you have seen before, is more appropriate you can request this instead. The GP will be able to book you for a face to face appointment if needed after the phone call.

A selection of appointments can be booked online via EMIS Patient Access. Ask at reception for a code to access this service securely. This can also be used to request medication.

Please also remember the receptionists can help with many issues including those related to appointments, referrals or medications, often quicker than the GPs, and the GPs have a daily ‘queries’ folder to deal with those issues that need a GP input.

We ask that, unless you are housebound, routine medication requests are submitted on paper at reception or via your regular pharmacist. Electronic prescription service (EPS) can be set up with you local pharmacist and speeds up the process – ask them for more information.

For non-urgent advice on a variety of medical matters there is also 111, NHS choices (www.nhs.uk) and your local pharmacy.
