Minor Surgery
We offer a minor surgery service for small procedures on skin. Please see your doctor to arranage a suitable appointment.
Blood Tests
The Phebotomist takes blood every Tuesday morning between 8.30 and 10.30 a.m, with a maximum of 25 patients.
Over 75 Years Old
If you are aged 75 years or over you will be invited to be seen by a member of the practice team, ie doctor, health visitor, practice nurse or community nurse, annually. This can be done at the surgery if you are well enough to attend or, if you are housebound, a home visit can be arranged, if on regular medication.
Well Person Screening
Appointments can be made with one of the nurses for a general health check. Please bring a urine specimen. The nurse will check on your current state of health and answer any concerns you may have about this. She will measure your height, weight and blood pressure and can advise about diet, smoking and alcohol consumption.
Cervical Smear Tests
Regular smear tests are important. They pick up the early signals that could save your life. In line with national policy, this practice offers routine smear testing to women every three years. Appointments can be made with one of the practice nurses.
Dispensing Medication
We can offer a dispensing service. You may collect your medication from the surgery instead of taking your prescription to the chemist.
Please give us three working days notice if you need a prescription dispensing. As per national and local guidelines, your repeat prescriptions will usually be enough to last 28 days.
Chaperones
When attending the doctor or nurse for some examinations or tests you may prefer to have a chaperone present. Please let our receptionists know if you would like a chaperone.
