Locum Doctors
From time to time we employ locum doctors to cover for periods of absence. These doctors all have passed the MRCGP exam and we try to use doctors who have worked at the practice before.
Nursing Team
Our practice nurses are available every day. The nurse may need to consult a doctor about your problem if your condition requires it. Our nurses are qualified to deal with minor injuries, dressings, ear syringing, leg ulcers, sprains, BP checks, cuts, vaccinations (and advice), children’s immunisations (we provide a full immunisation service for babies and children), cervical smears, etc. They run Well man and Well Women clinics and help look after patients with long term illnesses, including asthma, heart disease and diabetes. They can organise tests for diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol and many other conditions and can offer advice on diet, healthy living, alcohol, smoking, minor illnesses and family planning.

Community Nurses
Community nurses attached to the practice visit patients who are confined to their homes and need nursing assistance. This may be arranged with the doctor. The hospital will normally arrange for a community nurse to call on these patients discharged early who still require nursing treatment at home.
Physician Associates
Physician associates are healthcare professionals who work as part of a multidisciplinary team with supervision from a named senior doctor. They have worked at Cricket Green Medical Practice since 2008 and are embedded in the team. They will see pre-triaged patients and can assess, diagnose and treat, seeking advise from our senior GPs if needed. They are also involved in the long term condition physical reviews for our many patients with severe mental illness and learning disability.
For more information see our Physician Associate information page.
